WriteGPT

Draft, rewrite, summarise and tighten text.

WriteGPT drafts and reshapes written text: summarising, paraphrasing, adjusting tone, checking grammar and producing first drafts of routine correspondence. It is a drafting aid for people who write regularly and edit what they publish.

Workspace

The WriteGPT interface runs here. While it is being connected, the guidance below covers how to use it, what it handles well and where it falls short — the same information you would want before running a first job.

How to use WriteGPT

  1. 1Paste your source text or write a short brief describing what you need.
  2. 2Choose the mode: summarise, rewrite, adjust tone, or draft from notes.
  3. 3State the audience, the length and anything that must be preserved verbatim.
  4. 4Generate the draft and read it against your brief.
  5. 5Edit for specifics and verify any fact, figure or name before using it.

Practical examples

Turning notes into a client update

Input

Five bullet points: migration finished Tuesday, two hours of downtime, one report still failing, fix expected Friday, no data loss.

Result

A five-sentence email leading with the completed migration, stating the downtime plainly, flagging the outstanding report with its expected fix date, and closing with a single clear next step.

Summarising a 40-page report

Input

Report processed chapter by chapter with an instruction to retain sample sizes and hedged wording.

Result

Six bullet points, each carrying its original qualification — "suggests", "in a sample of 214" — rather than being flattened into stronger claims.

Supported formats

  • Pasted plain text
  • Markdown
  • Text copied from documents

Features

  • Summarising with control over length and audience
  • Paraphrasing and tone adjustment
  • Grammar and clarity checking
  • Email and cover letter drafting from bullet points
  • Section-by-section handling of long inputs

Limitations

  • It does not know facts about you, your client or your organisation unless you supply them.
  • Statements of fact, figures and citations must be verified; fluent text is not evidence of accuracy.
  • Quality falls off on very long single generations; work section by section.
  • It cannot supply first-hand experience, which is usually what makes writing worth reading.

Privacy and data handling

Text you submit is processed to generate your result and is not retained as a permanent record or used to train models. Do not paste confidential client material, credentials or personal data about others.

The full statement is in our privacy policy.
